Ryan Bertrand, the talented English full back is being linked with a move to Manchester United. With Saints currently in the relegation zone, they can lose a whole lot of players if they are relegated to the Championship status. Though according to reports, Bertrand is expected to leave even if they stay up.
It is expected that the 28-year-old full back will be sold for around 25 million pounds. Manchester United are not going to have it easy as Newcastle, Everton and Tottenham are also keen on signing the left back. But if Manchester United really wants their man then they will most probably get him.
Ryan Bertrand is a modern day fullback who has built his name on his attacking prowess. United have used Ashley Young in that position for this season as a makeshift full-back, with an out and out full back like Luke Shaw, confined to the bench. Shaw hasn’t been happy at the club. He was once substituted at halftime and that didn’t go down well with the former Saints player as he thought that Mourinho has unnecessarily targeted him.
If Saints go down this season, they can lose other talented players along with Ryan Bertrand as the players will harbour hopes of playing in top flight football instead of the Championship. Southampton has seen a lot of raids on some of their key player for quite some time now and this has made them into a relegation-threatened side.
They have struggled for goals this season as Shane long and Manolo Gabbiadini have found it tough to score. Charlie Austin has provided them with a bit of a goal threat but he was out injured for the most part of the season. He is back currently and Southampton will be hoping that he can help them to secure their Premier League status for another year at least.

Bertrand is a proven left back in the Premier League and is expected to be picked by Gareth Southgate for the upcoming World Cup. With Luke Shaw expected to be sold this season, United will be looking for the likes of Bertrand. A fullback is an important position in modern day football as they are expected to provide width and overlapping runs for the Wingers and of course they are also there to help out defensively as well. Bertrand will be a great addition to the United side and with the money being quoted, United should definitely go for him.
