It is astonishing what the form of a player can do for a club. Manchester United would be very happy with the form of their current number one David De Gea. The Spaniard has kept everything out that is beyond the possible aside from saving regular shots. It now seems that even throwing a pebble past De Gea would be impossible. He is currently the best in the world and would be set to continue in that form in the near future.
His good form however, has added a new worry to United and a great sign of hope to Aston Villa. The Villains are playing some excellent football down in the Sky Bet Championships and want to qualify for the playoffs.
If they can keep up their current form it seems like they would. One excellent aspect in their run to the top this season has been their defensive record. Their goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has been excellent in goal and has earned the club some valuable points. The keeper is on loan from Manchester United and set to leave Aston Villa at the end of the season to return to his parent club.
However, at United he only has one year left on his contract after this season and it would seem that Johnstone would be considering his options. The De Gea factor seems to be playing heavily on his mind. This is what he had to say.
“He is the best goalkeeper in the world,” Johnstone said of de Gea. “At United I would watch him every day. He’s not much older than me but you just pick things up from him. He’s very calm – that’s the one thing I’ve taken from him. But obviously his biggest quality is his shot-stopping which is unbelievable.”
“It’s very tough anyway to break in at a club like Man United. I’ve been there since I was 10-years-old but I was happy to play last year for Villa and get a full season this year. I’m enjoying playing football, I’m 25 now and you want to play every week.”
“At Man United you are probably not going to play every week. I only have a year left on my contract. Hopefully I will do my job properly, help the club get promoted and see what happens.”

It would seem that Aston Villa could end up with him. If it does happen, it would be a win-win for both Villa and Johnstone who would get to play every week but whether United would agree to it remains to be seen.
