Reports have surfaced linking Manchester City with Fiorentina winger, Federico Chiesa. A host of Premier League outfits other than the Citizens have taken notice of the 20-year-old, who has been rather impressive this season.
Chiesa has recorded 6 goals and 7 assists in his 34 appearances this campaign and is slowly developing into the shoes of an European sensation. The Italian has already been capped twice for the national team and 18 times for the youth sides.
He is one of the brightest young talents in the Serie A and elite Premier League outfits have already flocked to the scene. It has been reported that City and any other one of the interested parties will have to shell out £44m, if they plan on getting him this summer.
The youngster began his professional career with the Violas themselves after signing his first contract in February 2016. He impressed for the U19 by scoring once in his debut season and then grabbing 7 in his second.
Chiesa is close to making his 70th appearance for the Lillies and has also caught the attention of local rivals, SSC Napoli. The youngster is not short of trickery with the ball and is versatile enough to appear in almost any position in the offence.
Standing at 5 feet 9 inches, Chiesa is a shifty figure who can break open opposition defences with his creative abilities. He is almost ideal for the system Pep Guardiola implements and could make a major impact for the champions of England.
The Spanish manager is already on the hunt for more summer additions despite spending boatloads of cash in the last two seasons. He believes that winning the quadruple is only possible with a squad packed to brim with world class talents.
Obviously, Chiesa will only be a surplus to his requirements since he already has Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva in the team. The trio have featured heavily this season but Sterling has proved to be bit of a gamble in front of goal.
The 23-year-old has improved tremendously under the guidance of Guardiola but has still has ways to go in terms of scoring instincts go. Sterling might have registered a 23-goa tally this season but the amount of chances that he has missed is just extraordinary, the 2-3 loss in the Derby being the best example.
City have just registered the season double and will be looking to continue on this decorated path for the near future. Improving on the current squad is necessary but Chiesa could also prove to another gamble.

The winger is just 20 and still has to prove his abilities in the Serie A. Instead of placing more competition on Bernardo Silva’s position, Guardiola should look into more experienced pacey options who will be able to hit the ground running right on his arrival.
