Manchester United’s youngster, Axel Tuanzebe, made a move to the Villa Park in the January transfer window in search of regular first-team football under his belt. He was struggling to get acknowledged in the ranks of the Red Devils under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho and the football fraternity was optimistic about his developmental process after his loan transfer to Aston Villa materialized.
However, he has not been able to live up to the expectations owing to his injuries and thus, his time with the Villans have failed to be appealing. However, as per one of the latest reports by Birmingham Mail, Tuanzebe is seemingly likely to stay at Aston Villa on loan next season. The starlet is one of the hottest properties in English football at the moment and there is no denying that.
The 20-year-old possesses immense potential and despite the fact that he hasn’t blossomed properly this season, he can certainly make his presence felt next season if he manages to refrain himself from injuries. A strong centre-back by trade, his athleticism is remarkable and he thrives with tremendous pace in his boots. Besides, he is young and is expected to develop further under proper guidance.
Tuanzebe is capable of operating in either full-back role apart from the centre-back slot and his versatility makes him a compelling commodity. He is a clever learner and no wonder why Mourinho rates him very highly. Moreover, he would be a cost-effective solution too. Although there are many areas he needs to improvise on, he needs to accumulate game time to do the same.
Under the tutelage of Bruce, the Lions have churned a decent season in the Championship. They are placed at the 4th spot in the league table with 83 points to their name from 45 games. They are set to venture into the playoffs to pave their way to the Premier League and irrespective of whether they get promoted or not, Bruce needs to act in a shrewd manner in the summer.
The English Under-21 international would be a decent solution to Aston Villa’s uncertain and ageing defence. Alan Hutton, John Terry and Christopher Samba might choose the exit route in the summer. Further, Bruce would need a competent back-up for Neil Taylor at the left-back position and Tuanzebe has the calibre to cater to the needs of Aston Villa. With a good run of games next season, the young gun should be able to justify why he is so highly rated.
