Swansea City defender Kyle Bartley is being linked with a move to Championship club Leeds United. Bartley has found it tough to break into the first 11 of current Swansea team and his time could be up at the Liberty Stadium. The 26-year-old had earlier spent a loan spell at Elland Road in the 2016-17 season where he impressed everyone with his performances.
Swansea are deep into relegation scrap at this point in time and their Premier League status hangs by the thread. A victory for Southampton and a loss for them this weekend has made things complicated and it could easily come down to the game where both of them will square off against each other.
Carlos Carvalhal has done a terrific job to keep Swansea aloof as they were considered to be surely going down at one point in time, however, he has some more job to do before he can rest on his laurels.
Leeds, on the other hand, are pretty much done and dusted with their season as they are sitting on the 14th spot and haven’t got much to play for. They will look to reinforce in the summer so that they can mount up a better challenge for Premier League promotion next season.
According to reports, Swansea will listen to Bartley’s offer only if they avoid relegation and stay up in the Premier League. The 26-year-old has been used sporadically throughout his stint at Swansea as he has just made 38 appearances in all competitions in 6 years at the club.
The former Arsenal player didn’t make an appearance for them in the Premier League, however, his only appearance for them happens to be in the Champions League game where he played at the back in a defeat against Olympiacos in 2009.
Bartley is considered as a natural leader and even though he isn’t regular he has captained the Swans this year. Heckingbottom can certainly do with a player like him as he will command the back four well. On his loan spell with the Peacocks, he started in 45 league games and played a big part when they were challenging for the playoff spot under Garry Monk.

Heckingbottom, who has been finding it quite difficult to restrain the opposition from scoring goals with his current stock of players, might be more than happy to bring a player like Bartley into his side and this makes a bid for the Englishman even more imminent at the Elland Road club.
