Leeds United are being touted to sign Olympiakos midfielder Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe on a permanent transfer this summer. According to recent reports, the Greek giants are set to part ways with their prized asset when the transfer window opens in the summer. It is believed that the owner of Olympiakos wants to rebuild his side around Greek players which could pave the way for Odjidja-Ofoe’s departure from the club.
Some sources have recently claimed that Olympiakos are eager to sell some of their players in order to balance their books and make new acquisitions in the off-season. It has also been suggested that the Greek outfit are looking to raise at least €15m from player sales. This could mean that the Peacocks are in with a great chance to make a swoop for his services this summer. However, Olympiakos are set to demand a fee in the region of €2m for the Belgian midfielder, which is exactly the same price that they had to pay Legia Warsaw to acquire him last summer.
Paul Heckingbottom’s team could also face stiff competition from Russian side Krasnodar in pursuit of the Belgian’s signature. The 29-year-old has featured in 29 matches for Olympiakos this season, scoring 4 goals while creating 3 assists in all competitions.
The West Yorkshire outfit are currently sitting in the 14th spot in the English Championship table with a tally of 54 points in 43 league games. Their season has slowly but surely fizzled out after a promising start under their former manager Thomas Christiansen and now, it looks like Heckingbottom’s side are in need of some quality acquisitions in the summer transfer period which can help them in their efforts to push for a promotion place next term.
The addition of Odjidja-Ofoe will undoubtedly bolster Heckingbottom’s midfield options ahead of the new campaign. Leeds United have the likes of Samuel Sáiz, Eunan O’Kane, Ronaldo Vieira, Kalvin Phillips and Adam Forshaw vying for a place in Heckingbottom’s first-team. The acquisition of Odjidja-Ofoe will definitely add more competition for places in the Peacocks squad.

The Belgian is highly versatile and can operate in a number of different positions across the midfield. He can play in a holding midfield role or as an attacking midfielder which makes him a perfect fit for the West Yorkshire club. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Odjidja-Ofoe and whether he ends up making a switch to Elland Road in the near future.
