Hull City are being linked with a move for Celtic wide-man Ryan Christie next summer. According to recent reports, the Tigers are interested in securing the services of the Celtic winger, who is currently on loan at Aberdeen, at the end of the season. The Scotland international has put in some eye-catching displays for the Dons during the course of this campaign which has not gone unnoticed as Nigel Adkins is preparing a swoop for his signature this summer.
Christie has just one year remaining on his current contract with the Hoops but it is believed that the Scottish giants are looking to extend his deal beyond the summer of 2019 after the club chiefs were left impressed by his recent form at Pittodrie. Hence, Brendan Rodgers’ side could be reluctant to part ways with their prized asset in the off-season which will dampen Hull City’s hopes of landing the player. Some sources are also claiming that Aberdeen could also try to make his loan switch a permanent one in the summer.
The 23-year-old winger has made 36 appearances for the Dons this season, scoring 8 goals and providing 14 assists in all competitions.
Hull City are currently in the 18th place in the Skybet Championship standings with a tally of 40 points after 39 league matches. The Tigers are facing the possibility of suffering the agony of being relegated from the English Championship at the end of the season. However, they have secured a string of positive results in recent weeks which has got them out of trouble for the time being. However, Nigel Adkins’ team are hovering just four points above the drop zone going into the business end of the campaign.
The addition of Christie could turn out to be a major coup for the Yorkshire club if they can pull it off. He will undoubtedly bolster Adkins’ midfield options ahead of the new season. Hull City have the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Harry Wilson, Frazier Campbell and Jon Toral vying for a place in Adkins’ starting eleven so the potential signing of Christie will definitely add more competition for places in their squad.

The 23-year-old Scottish winger is highly versatile and can play in a number of different positions across the midfield. He can be deployed on either winger or in the number 10 position which makes him a perfect fit for the Tigers. Only time will tell what lies ahead in the future of Christie and whether he ends up making a switch to the KCOM Stadium in the near future.
