Chelsea signed Alvaro Morata with high hopes this season but most of us will agree that he has struggled to get going in the Premier League for them. He started off well but after few average performances and injuries he has seen his stocks go down and according to recent reports, Juventus might be looking at the Spaniard to bring him back to Turin.
According to reports, Juventus will be making some big signings in the summer and they are keen on having Morata back as he enjoyed his best spell of his career with the Italian side. Morata who started at Real Madrid struggled for first-team place throughout his stint there and made a loan move to Juventus.
The report also suggested that Mandzukic can be on his way out. Mandzukic was brilliant in the recently concluded second leg Champions League Quarter Final encounter against Real Madrid as he managed to score two goals and reignite hopes of a great comeback. The hopes were dashed as Cristiano Ronaldo scored a late penalty to send Real Madrid through and the Galacticos are in line to win three Champions League in a row.
Chelsea have struggled this season at the back as the likes of Gary Cahill and David Luiz have had a poor season. Christensen and Rudiger have taken the defensive responsibilities for the Blues for the latter half of the season but they have been poor in the Premier League and are on the verge of missing out on the coveted UCL spot.
Morata has often been a second choice striker for the most part of his career and at Chelsea, after Diego Costa’s departure, he was expected to lead the lines for them. Adapting to the Premier League sometimes takes time as the league is more physical and fast-paced than the La Liga and Serie A. Nevertheless, Morata had a decent start in the Premier League in the opening few months.

Morata has made 40 appearances for the Blues this season in all competitions and has managed to score 14 times. For a club like Chelsea, an out and out striker will be expected to score more than 20 goals this season. What hasn’t helped Morata’s cause this season is that Hazard has been inconsistent throughout the season and Chelsea hasn’t created enough chances for the striker to score. He has had few poor games and the fans quickly turned on him as Chelsea are lagging behind in the Premier League but one feels he still can be a success if he decides to stay at Chelsea for another season.
