Chelsea are not willing to let their Spanish forward Alvaro Morata leave this summer. According to recent reports, the Blues of London are reluctant to part ways with their prized asset when the transfer window opens in the summer. It is believed that Antonio Conte’s side will resist any offers that they receive for the Spaniard during the summer transfer period. However, they would be in favour of letting him depart Stamford Bridge if the player insists on a change of scenery.
Morata signed for Chelsea from Real Madrid last summer but has had a mediocre campaign so far in West London. Some sources are now claiming that the Blues are ready to give him time to prove his worth next season. Morata has struggled to score goals consistently for Chelsea during the course of this season which has led to rumours linking him with a move abroad. However, there is still a strong belief within the West London club that he could turn his career around in the next campaign.
The 25-year-old forward has made 44 appearances for Chelsea this season, scoring 15 goals while providing 6 assists in all competitions. The Spaniard recently came off the bench to score his team’s second goal against Southampton in the semi-finals of the FA Cup last weekend.
The Blues have a tally of 63 points after playing 34 league matches and find themselves in the 5th spot in the league standings. They still have a slim hope of finishing in the top 4 while also preparing for the FA Cup final clash against Manchester United next month.
Retaining some of their top talents could go a long way in helping Chelsea close the gap to their top 4 rivals in the coming campaigns. There is no doubt that Morata has flattered to deceive under Antonio Conte this season. However, he could bounce back next term under a new manager at the helm so there is enough reason for him to stick with the Blues beyond this summer.

The Spaniard is quite versatile and can play as an out and out forward up top or on the left flank which makes him an ideal asset for the Blues. At 25, Morata still has his peak years ahead of him which Chelsea could look to utilise in the coming years. Only time will tell what lies ahead in the future of Morata and whether he ends up leaving Stamford Bridge in the near future.
