Chelsea are reportedly considering slapping a price tag of £50 million on Michy Batshuayi. The Belgian hitman was loaned out by the Blues back in January. Batshuayi came to the club in the summer of 2016 when Antonio Conte took over at the club.
He was brought in as a reputed striker who could help lift the quality of the Blues attack. He came from France where he had landed himself a healthy number of goals and Chelsea were happy to pay in the region of £40 million for him.
However, Batshuayi ended up being the backup striker to Diego Costa who led the charge at Chelsea. Costa had a brilliant season as he and his team went on to win the Premier League title at Conte’s first season at the Stamford Bridge.
Costa’s prominence meant that Batshuayi was only a stop-gap option. However, the Belgian went on to score the winning goal in the 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion which secured Chelsea the title. It was euphoric scenes for Batshuayi as he ended the season with little appearances but a healthy goal to appearances ratio.
In the next season, as Costa made his way out of the club owing to his fight with Conte, Alvaro Morata was brought in. Conte clearly mentioned that the first choice striker spot was up for grabs. However, Batshuayi was given little chance to express himself as Morata started delivering and it saw Batshuayi’s first team appearances limited.
As January approached, Batshuayi was clearly growing frustrated at the club and wanted to move on. He wanted to get some game time under his belt with the 2018 FIFA World Cup coming up. In January, three clubs; Arsenal, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund, underwent a transfer merry go round with Chelsea getting Olivier Giroud, Arsenal signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Batshuayi going to Dortmund on loan.
He has had a successful stint at the club and would have ended the season on a high but he recently got injured. It has brought down the curtains on his spell at Germany and Batshuayi will return to Chelsea as per his contract.

It is being reported that Dortmund wants to sign him but Chelsea are unwilling to let him go, hence the price tag. The Blues want to either cash in on him heavily or keep the young striker who they believe can deliver way more in the future. Seems like Roman knows what he is doing.
