Robert Lewandowski’s future with Bayern Munich has raised an obscene amount of questions in recent times and Chelsea plans on clearing out the confusion. It has been reported that the Blues are prepared to offer their £70m signing from the previous summer transfer window, Alvaro Morata in exchange for the Polish international.
Lewandowski has prodded his agent Pini Zahavi to start entertaining offers from teams outside of the Bundesliga, Premier League to be his greatest preference. A shocking revelation but something that Bayern should heavily concern themselves with.
The 29-year-old is their best offensive threat and is one of the world’s best number nines. His 36-goal tally in 46 games this season alone will give you a clear idea of his abilities. One would assume that after spending 4 seasons with the Bavarians and winning the Bundesliga every single campaign will be enough to keep the forward happy at the Allianz.
Clearly Lewandowski’s career ambitions rise higher than just winning the domestic title which at this point of time is almost an obligation for Der FCB. The Polish international was at the heart of the heavy Borussia Dortmund resistance under the management of Jurgen Klopp but was at the wrong end of the Champions League victory in the 2013/14 season. A Jupp Heynckes-led Munich team beat BVB 2-1 at the Wembley Stadium and Lewandowski subsequently had declined a contract extension.
He was later signed by Munich on a free transfer and ever since has racked up 146 goals with the Bundesliga champions in 183 total appearances. Winning the continental trophy would complete the medal case for Lewandowski but how high are his chances with a team who are will not even be in the Champions League next season?
Chelsea are currently 5th and might just be poised to finish their until and unless Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur slip up in the final stretch of the season. They registered a narrow 2-3 win over Southampton last weekend and kept their top-four hopes alive.
Alvaro Morata was a severe disappointment across all the Chelsea players and Antonio Conte was forced to take him off in the second half. A clear picture of the tumultuous period the Spaniard had to endure ever since his arrival to West London.

The Blues might just be prepared to cash in on him when he is still relatively young and capable of adapting to football outside of the Premier League. However, this swap deal would heavily depend on the side qualifying for a place in next season’s Champions League and the manager set to replace Conte.
