Chelsea, who have struggled in the Premier League this season, may part ways with Antonio Conte. It will be certainly harsh on the Italian as he delivered the Premier League title last year only. It is being reported that the current Juventus manager, Massimiliano Allegri, is a front-runner for the top job at Stamford Bridge.
Allegri took over the job at Juventus after Conte went on to manage the Italian National side. Since then he has done a terrific job at Juventus. Juventus were already doing well in the domestic competitions but Allegri made them a force to reckon with in the Uefa Champions League. Under him, the Turin based side played in two Champions League Final. On both occasions, he lost out to the much-fancied Spanish opponents. Nevertheless, under Allegri Juventus have become a dangerous side even in European competitions.
Chelsea have struggled this season under Antonio Conte as their new signings like Tiémoué Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata have failed to make a mark.Chelsea’s last year title-winning team was built on the back of a strong defence but this year regular names like Gary Cahill and David Luiz have also disappointed.
As we have seen in the past, Chelsea, have been ruthless when it comes to sacking managers and it is largely expected that Antonio Conte doesn’t have a future at Chelsea. Chelsea is currently 11 points off the top 4 having played a game less than the fourth-placed Tottenham and missing out on the coveted Champion league spot seems very likely for the Blues. Their only saving grace this season could be the FA Cup as they are in the Semi-Finals and will be facing Southampton.
However, there is quite a good section of fans which wants Conte to stay. Their argument is that Chelsea as a club need stability and this cycle of having a new manager every 2 seasons isn’t helping them to achieve that. When a new manager comes in, he brings his own training regime and playing style and players have to adapt all over again.

Allegri, like Conte, builts his team on the back of strong defence line. He relies on quick counter attacks for goals with the likes of Cuadrado and Douglas Costa providing width to his team. At Chelsea, he will most likely line them up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. With Eden Hazard rumoured to leave the Blues after this season, it could be a tricky season for the manager. However, if Allegri comes in he could bring a number of his trusted players with him to the West London outfit. Allegri is regarded highly in Italy and has been very successful but he hasn’t ever managed any club outside of Italy and the Premier League, undoubtedly, could be a tricky affair for the Italian.
