Arsenal have reportedly joined in on the race to sign AS Roma midfielder, Radja Nainggolan in the summer window. The 29-year-old is expected to cost around £45m, which will come in handy for the Serie A outfit. Roma’s books are not balanced as per financial rules and they will be forced to sell a couple of their key players in order to escape the consequences.
Nainggolan has already been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League but none of the transfer moves materialized. The Gunners might be ready to break the bank for the highly technical defensive midfielder.
Nainggolan will be making his 200th appearance for Roma in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Semi Final draw against Liverpool. He has registered 31 goals and 22 assists during his 4 years stay at the Stadio Olimpico and is a guaranteed starter under Eusebio Di Francesco.
The 29-year-old has also been capped 29 times for the Belgian national team and is expected to travel to Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. His abilities with the ball are not necessarily standardized as far as holding midfielders are concerned. Nainggolan has an incredible touch and is one of the shifty bodies who can breeze past opposition players with ease.
He primarily started out as a defensive midfielder, early in his career but has progressed into featuring in more offensive roles. Francesco has certainly taken note of the Belgian’s talents and has utilised him upfront whenever required.
Nainggolan is brilliant as a box-to-box to option as well. He can win you possession around the central circle and can be a major threat on goal. Obviously, his relentless work ethic is a major factor in his incredible footballing abilities. The former Cagliari player is a steam engine who will give you his best for the entire 90 minutes.
Probably an ideal role model for a low morale Arsenal squad. The Gunners have looked lacklustre this season and are set to repeat their 6th place finish in the Premier League after recording a woeful season on the road.
Arsene Wenger is ready to step down from the managerial seat and a state of confusion has erupted. Replacing someone after a 22-year period will be difficult but necessary.

As the board and the owners look for an ideal candidate, the remaining management team needs to prepare for life after the Frenchman’s departure. Signing talents like Nainggolan will go a long way in making the transition easier.
