Arsenal have been a huge boost in future transfer plans as a word from Ligue 1 outfit, FC Girondins Bordeaux, indicate that Malcom will be sold in the subsequent window. Club chairman and major shareholder of the French side, Nicolas de Tavernost revealed that the present season losses could have been avoided by selling the Brazilian in the January window.
He was also quoted saying, “There are always purchases and sales being made, and there is a major Brazilian player whom you know he wants to leave the club and we will do it in the most absolute respect of our interests. That’s why we first bought this player and then [will eventually sell him] in the offseason.”
Malcom might not have been named in this particular instance but all signs point towards his direction. The 21-year-old had expressed heavy interest in departing the club but was circumstantially held back for the completion of the 2017/18 campaign.
When asked about his failed transfer to the Premier League, Malcom said, “I wanted to leave. I tell the truth. It’s my dream to progress in my career. I spoke with the president [Stephane Martin], he told me that he knew it was my dream, but that he needed me. I told him he could count on me until the end [of the season]. I will do everything to bring Bordeaux to the top six in.”
Currently, the Gunners could do with a pacey option on the flanks and Malcom is more than an ideal replacement for Alexis Sanchez.
After the departure of both Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from the club, the London club are a bit short staffed in the wing department. Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck have been forced to feature in the vacant roles and neither has looked particularly impressive.
Malcolm is a product of Brazilian club, Corinthians, having featured in 54 games for the senior squad while nabbing 7 goals and 5 assists. After the initial development period at Brazil’s Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Malcom arrived at Matmut Atlantique on 31 January 2016 for an undisclosed transfer fee.
Ever since his arrival Malcolm has taken the Ligue 1 by storm scoring 9 goals in 30 games while also adding a furthering an assist tally of 6 in the league this season (7 in total). His national heritage is transparent in his technical skills with the ball.
Standing at just 5 feet 8 inches, the 20-year-old has a knack for breezing past defenders and breaking down the opposition defences at will.

Arsenal’s attack needs some reinforcement following the season they are having in England’s top-flight. So they should be ready to fight off all rivalling parties and tie down the Brazilian’s services permanently at the Emirates.
