Arsenal are keeping tabs on the development of Barcelona youngster Robert Navarro ahead of a potential transfer in the summer. According to recent reports, the Catalans starlet has caught the eyes of the Gunners chiefs and now, Arsene Wenger’s team are in pole position to seal a move for his services.
The 15-year-old is highly rated in European football with some elite clubs such as Manchester City also keeping an eye on his progress. Some sources have recently claimed that the North Londoners are currently leading the chase to sign the Spanish starlet. Navarro will be eligible to sign a professional contract when the transfer window opens in the summer with recent reports suggesting that he could move on in search of more challenging adventures rather than stay at the Nou Camp.
Barcelona are still trying to retain his services for the long-run but the player is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with the club. Only time will tell whether he ends up staying in Spain rather than move to another country.
Wenger’s side are currently in the 6th position in the Premier League table with a tally of 54 points after Gameweek 33 and are just three points behind fifth-placed Chelsea going into the final few matches of the campaign. The Gunners put in an encouraging display recently to ensure a thrilling 3-2 victory versus Southampton last weekend. However, they must win the Europa League if they are to feature in the Champions League next term.
The addition of Navorro will undoubtedly bolster Wenger’s attacking options in the future but for now, he needs to feature regularly at the top level to ensure that he develops his game and fulfils his immense potential. Wenger has shown in the past that he is not afraid to play talented young players in his starting eleven as evidenced by the emergence of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Reece Nelson and Alex Iwobi in recent seasons.

At 15, Navorro still has a lot of time to grow his game and become a future star in the Premier League which the Gunners could look to capitalise on in the coming years. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Navorro and whether he ends up making a switch out of Catalonia in the near future.
