Burnley will be hosting Leicester City for their Premier League fixture at Turf Moor on 14th April. Claude Puel’s men will try to make amends this weekend by collecting some points against their 7th place rivals, Burnley. The Foxes are 6 points behind their Saturday opponents in the 8th spot and are coming off a 1-2 loss against Newcastle United.
Their were second best almost throughout the game and could not hold out against a relegation riddled side. After last week, Rafael Benitez might just have put that concern on the backboard and are just two points off their seasonal plans – the 40 point mark.
However, the Foxes opened up a significant gap behind the Clarets and might just have given up their hopes of a European spot. But Burnley certainly have not.
Arsenal are still within touching distance with 6 games still left in the league campaign. With the form the Gunners have shown all season, you never know what the final stretch of the season will deliver.
The mid-week Champions League fixtures were certainly not short of drama and the Premier League always surprises fans with the most unexpected, every season.
The last time Leicester and Burnley met was back in December, which the former won 1-0. Dyche will look to exact revenge at home but the Foxes cannot afford another slip-up.
Here is how Puel might field his team on gameday.
Formation: 4-4-1-1
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel is the first choice well ahead of Eldin Jakupovic and Ben Hammer. The Danish international is averaging 3 saves in the league this season and has 8 clean sheets to his name.
Danny Simpson is the predicted starter on the right with Daniel Amartey still nursing that hamstring injury.
Ben Chilwell should find himself fielded on the left. Christian Fuchs on the bench.
Wes Morgan and Harry Maguire might get paired up in the centre-back role. They will be tested well against the likes of Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes.
Midfield
Adrien Silva and Wilfred Ndidi should get the nod in the holding midfield roles. Vicente Iborra is ruled out with a hamstring strain and Matty James with an Achilles injury.
The flanks might be covered by Riyad Mahrez on the right and Marc Albrighton on the left.
Attack
Jamie Vardy is the starting number nine. The Englishman scored the only goal for his team against Newcastle and will be looking to improve upon his 16-goal tally. Shinji Okazaki might feature behind him.
