Everton will be hosting the Merseyside derby this Saturday in a Premier League clash. The reds are coming after a thumping win in the Champions League against a much-fancied Manchester City side. Liverpool blew City away in the first 30 minutes as they managed to score 3 within that period of time. This victory has certainly put Liverpool as the firm favourites to go through the semi-final. The next leg will be played next week.
Liverpool, are currently comfortably placed at the third spot in the Premier League. Their objective in the Premier league will be to finish in top 4 and they are currently 10 points clear of Chelsea who are at 5th with a game in hand for the Blues. Liverpool is expected to make the top 4 but they cannot let their foot off the gas as Chelsea might close in. Liverpool still has a trip to make at the Stamford Bridge and that game could be crucial if Liverpool drops points in the few coming game weeks.
With their eye on the crucial Champions League clash, Klopp might give a bit of a breather to some of their key players. Salah went off injured with a groin issue and surely Klopp won’t risk him before the Champions League tie. Liverpool fans would expect a good a lineup as it is a derby game.
4-3-3 predicted Lineup to face Everton
Defence
Loris Karius will be expected to start between the sticks for the Reds. He has slowly cemented his place in the first XI and has come good when called upon. Karius will have Van Dijk and Lovren in front of him as Liverpool currently have Joe Gomez, Matip and Ragnar Klavan all ruled out due to injury, so Van Dijk and Lovren pretty much pick themselves up.
Fullback is a position where we can expect to see some changes. Klopp might rest off Alexander Arnold and Robertson keeping the Champions League tie in mind. We can see Moreno and Clyne in the fullback positions. Clyne will be making a comeback after a long injury layoff
Midfield
Just like the defence, the midfield pretty much picks themselves up as Liverpool have Emre Can and Lallana ruled out due to injury. The trio of Henderson, Milner and Wijnaldum should start in the midfield. Henderson has been ruled out of the second leg and he is expected to lead the team this weekend for the derby.
Attack
With Mohamed Salah injured, Liverpool surely wouldn’t rush him for the game against Everton. So Oxlade Chamberlain will play from the right-hand side. Against City, after Salah was subbed, Liverpool failed to create many chances. Mane who has been in good form recently, scoring 7 goals in his last 8 games will be expected to play from the left. The last and final change which Klopp can go for is upfront.
With Ings available, he might start him ahead of Firmino. Firmino has played most of the games and it could be a good time to rest him ahead of the Champions League clash. If things don’t work out he surely can be brought upon from the bench later in the game.
