Leeds United will be taking on Norwich City in their last game of the championship season. They haven’t got much to play for as they are sitting at the 12th spot. This match will decide who finishes above the other as the Canaries are also on 57 points.
The Peacocks won their last game against Barnsley and that took some pressure off the under-fire manager Paul Heckingbottom. The win though isn’t too useful for them on the points table but a win will certainly boost the team’s morale. The whites manager has been making some changes to give everyone on the roster a chance and this time also the same will be expected from Heckingbottom.
The match will decide who finishes in the top half of the table but a draw between these two sides can give Ipswich United a chance to pip over them. Both the teams will be looking to finish the season on a high and with some sort of positivity.
Here is how they will most likely lineup against the Canaries
Predicted Formation- (4-2-3-1)
Defence:
Bailey Peacock-Farrell will be expected to start in goal for Leeds. He will be shielded by the centre-back pairing of Paudie O’Connor and Pontus Jansson. Paul Heckingbottom’s side has been poor defensively this season as they haven’t managed to keep a clean sheet on a consistent basis. However, at present, they will go for this tried and tested centre-back pairing against the Canaries.
Matthew Pennington and Tom Pearce will complete the back four and will play in their usual full-back roles with Pearce playing down the left and Pennington down the right.
Midfield:
Adam Forshaw and Ronaldo Vieira will be playing in the centre of the pitch. Forshaw might be preferred over Kalvin Phillips as he has been ordinary this term. Pablo Hernandez, Kemar Roofe and Ezgjan Alioski will provide the attacking output from midfield. Samuel Saiz reacted poorly when he was subbed off in the last game and could be demoted to the bench in this weeks encounter.
Heckingbottom is known as a hard task-master and someone who is keen to establish discipline in the dressing room. So such a reaction can certainly go against Saiz and he might have to face the wrath of the manager.
Attack:
Caleb Ekuban will most likely start up front for the Whites. Kemar Roofe has usually been leading the line for the Peacocks but with Samuel Saiz expected to not take part, Roofe will most likely play in the no.10 role.
