Tottenham Hotspur are set to part ways with their Belgian midfielder Mousa Dembele this summer. According to recent reports, Spurs are preparing to raise a transfer war chest by selling some of their first-team stars which include the Belgian international. The 30-year-old has been in fine form for the North Londoners during the course of this season but he has just one year left in his current contract with Spurs which could pave the way for his exit when the transfer window opens this summer.
The Antwerpen-born player has made 38 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season but is yet to find the back of the net. Dembele has been instrumental in Tottenham’s rise from Premier League mediocrity to being UEFA Champions League regulars in the last few years. However, Pochettino is willing to let some of his stars leave in order to freshen up his squad when they move to their new ground next season.
The Belgian has featured in 235 matches for Tottenham since making a switch from Fulham in the summer of 2012. Let’s take a look at three possible destinations for Dembele if he does end up leaving the North London team this summer.
The Galacticos are in need to bring in some more stars in the summer to try and close the gap between themselves and Barcelona in the coming seasons. Dembele is exactly the type of player they are looking for and could turn out to be a shrewd short-term addition to their squad if they can convince the Belgian to ply his trade in the Spanish capital.
The new champions of England have been scoring goals for fun in the league this season which has seen them cruise to the Premier League title. However, with David Silva and Fernandinho not getting any younger, they could benefit from a move for Dembele. The addition of the Belgian midfielder could provide them with a spark in midfield and if he can continue his good form next season and play at a high level, then Dembele has the talent to regularly feature for the Blues of Manchester next season alongside his fellow international teammate Kevin De Bruyne.

The Chinese Super League side has the cash to meet Spurs’ valuation and they can definitely raise their profile by acquiring one of the standout stars of the Premier League. Dembele will also benefit from such a move as he will earn a lot more in China and can end his career on a high by winning a few titles for the Guangzhou-based outfit.
