Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele is inching closer to a Premier League exit this summer. According to recent reports, the Belgium international is keen on making a move abroad, after spending eight years in the English top-flight. The Spurs midfielder will turn 31 in July this year and it is believed that he wants to make a switch abroad in search of fresh adventures.
Some sources have recently claimed that there are offers on the table from China and the Serie A for Dembele, which could mean that he might consider moving to a foreign land as he enters the twilight of his football career. It is also being suggested that China seems to be his most likely destination for him at the moment.
Dembele joined the North Londoners from Fulham in the summer of 2012 for a fee around £15m. He will enter the final year of his Spurs contract at the end of this campaign. The 30-year-old is yet to agree on a new deal with the club which indicates that Tottenham will listen to offers for the Belgian midfielder in the off-season. However, they would demand a significant fee for their prized asset which might suit a Chinese club more than an Italian one.
Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs are currently occupying the 4th spot in the Premier League table with a tally of 68 points in 34 league matches. They recently managed to earn a 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium in their last league outing on Wednesday night with a crucial semi-final clash in the FA Cup versus Manchester United looming on the horizon.
Dembele has played a significant part in Spurs’ success in recent years and his departure could leave Pochettino’s squad significantly depleted. However, if the North London outfit can manage to bring in a suitable replacement then they should definitely let the Belgian leave this summer. He has been a great servant for the club over the last few years and deserves to choose his next destination.

The Belgian international has featured in 37 matches for Spurs this season but is yet to find the back of the net. At 30, he still has a few good years left in him to play at the highest level which makes him an ideal addition for any of his potential suitors. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Dembele and whether he ends up departing the North Londoners in the near future.
