Wolves secured a move to the Premier League after six seasons and Nuno Espirito Santo’s side has been brilliant in this current campaign. Fulham dropped points this weekend against Brentford and that sparked Euphoric celebrations in the West Midlands club.
Wolves have dominated the Championship this season as they have been top of the table since mid-November. They enjoyed a great run where they went 14 games unbeaten. Since November, they have just lost three times and with 4 games left in the season, they have secured their move to top-flight football.
Former Porto boss Santo has made this team into a well-oiled machine as they have looked head and shoulders above everyone in the Championship. Santo took over from Paul Lambert and made a huge statement by signing Porto star Reuben Neves for a club record fee of £15.8million. Neves recently scored a brilliant goal against Derby County, has been instrumental in Wolves’ success. With their move to Premier League secured, we look at three players Wolves should get to improve their chances in the top flight next season
Jose Fonte
Fonte has bee fighting for a place in the West Ham squad as Moyes has preferred Ogbonna, Reid and Collins over him. Fonte hasn’t been regular for the Hammers since his move from Southampton. Fonte might not have been playing regularly but he has good experience of Premier League football and Wolves might be looking to bring some experience and solidity at the back.
Alex Telles
The Porto man can reunite with his former boss. He has been brilliant for the Portuguese side and is considered as one of the best full-backs in the country. He is known for his overlapping runs and agility. He has plenty of skills which helps him in the attacking half of the pitch. In short, he is a complete modern day fullback and can really bolster Wolves’s squad if he makes his way to the English club.
Andre Silva
Wolves were linked with the Ac Milan striker in the January transfer window and it would be no surprise if Wolves go for him in the summer. Silva was part of Porto before he moved to the Italian giant. He hasn’t had a good time with them as he has struggled for goals this season and could be on his way to other clubs. Wolves will have to break the bank to get him as he is being valued around £33million but as they have secured a move to the Premier League they will be gaining huge financial benefits, so they can invest in an able striker like Silva.
