Not every player who makes a move to Barcelona can make cut it out at the club. The ones who do usually end up becoming club legends but the rest fade away. This case sounds familiar for Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes. The central midfield player signed for the club two years back but has never been a part of the main team.
His form has deviated over the years but he has never been able to cement a place in the first team. With the club having players like Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic and Paulinho, Gomes has never been able to break into the team. He has cut a frustrated figure throughout the entire time and has apparently told the club he wishes to leave at the end of this season.
He is now ready to move on to a new club and there have been past links with the player rumoured to join AC Milan and Manchester United. With Gomes now ready to move, here are three clubs who can move in for him.
Liverpool
The Reds have an excellent attack in place this season. They have a shaky defence and a mediocre attack. The Reds are supposed to have Naby Keita join them in the summer which will further strengthen their team. However, they have a delicate situation with Emre Can whose contract expires after this season. He is yet to pledge his future and this might leave Liverpool short of one player. This would mean that Liverpool would love to have Andre Gomes in the team as he would shore up that midfield next to Keita and Henderson.
Manchester United
The Red Devils have Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba as their star players. While Pogba is a star player who can play box to box, Matic can sit back and allow attacks to develop and flourish. Ander Herrera has not been able to repeat his performance and young McTominay still needs to develop as a first team player. This means that Andre Gomes could add some heavy weight in the United midfield park and would be a good signing for them.
Chelsea

The Blues are suffering a disappointing season and have failed to make a mark in the league. Their new midfield signing Ross Barkley and Tiemoue Bakayoko have not been able to create an impression. This means that the Blues are still short in midfield of a genuine creative box to box player and Andre Gomes could fill the spot right in.
