Recent reports claim that Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey can be on his way to Juventus on completion of this season at the Emirates. The Serie A outfit have still not agreed terms with Liverpool’s Emre Can and have picked out the Welshman as the likely replacement. Either of the moves are not a far-off possibility with both Premier League outfits refusing to meet the contract demands of their respective players.
Can had already asked the Merseyside club for a yearly €12m fee for the extended contract as his present one is set to expire after this season. Ramsey, on the other hand, will have just one more year left on his deal with Arsenal after this season and the North London outfit been more than cautioned over the consequences of his departure.
Arsenal are not even close to contending for a top-four spot and have vested all their hopes of a Champions League return on the UEFA Europa League. That will be an entirely different obstacle now that Atletico Madrid have been drawn against them in the Semi-Final stage.
Ramsey’s name might not be as big as that of Ozil’s in world football but he is still a key figure in the Gunner squad. The Wales international has been with the side ever since the summer of 2008 and has racked up 325 appearances for the club so far managing 58 goals and 55 assists.
He is well proven in the box-to-box or ‘number 8’ role and could break waves in the Serie A with the Juventus team.
Ramsey came into the spotlight in the 2013/14 season. He earned the Arsenal’s Player Of The Season honour and was nominated for PFA Young Player Of The Year award as well.
Ramsey scored his first club hattrick against Everton earlier this the season and showcased his remarkable eye for goal despite being a central midfielder. He has played in both attacking and holding midfield roles and have flourished with Granit Xhaka, Ozil and Jack Wilshere next to him.
