Transfer Speculation
As per one of the latest reports by Birmingham Live, Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen to lure Benfica’s attacker, Anderson Talisca, to the Molineux Stadium in the summer. Besides, Milliyet has reported that the Championship leaders are keen to roll out a hefty transfer fee of £26.5million to secure his services, although Manchester United and Liverpool are also perceived to be interested.
Fact File
Talisca emerged through the youth ranks of Vasco da Gama and Bahia before being promoted to the senior side of the latter. In the summer of 2014, Benfica made him sign on the dotted line but since the summer of 2016, he has been plying his trade for Besiktas after moving to the Turkish outfit on loan. Moreover, he has featured for Brazil Under-20 and Under-23 sides as well. Besiktas might attempt to sign him on a permanent deal and then sell him for a profit in the summer.
Attributes
The Brazilian is a cunning attacker who operates basically from the central attacking midfield slot. Not only does he create chances for his teammates adequately but also thrives with the tendency to test opposition’s goalkeeper from close quarters as well as from long range. He is a free-kick specialist and holds the ball meticulously more often than not.
Besides, Talisca showcases immense work-rate, particularly in the final third, and has the required pace in his legs to outrun most of the defenders of the opposition. However, his passing has flattered to deceive and on many occasions, he has flattered to deceive with respect to his defensive contributions. Nonetheless, he has shown that he has the calibre of a notable attacker and should get better in the coming seasons.
Season So Far
The 24-year-old has certainly made his presence felt this season, having smashed 10 goals in 23 appearances in Turkish Super Lig, apart from registering 3 assists. Further, he has scored 4 goals in 6 appearances in the Champions League this season and no wonder why his stocks are so highly rated at this stroke of the hour.
Should Nuno Sign Him?
Wolves are looking all set to be promoted to the Premier League and it is expected that Nuno Espirito Santo would be craving to make some additions to his arsenal. Talisca would be a significant addition to his ranks owing to the attacking prowess that he offers but he lacks the experience of English football, which would be something Espirito Santo needs to consider. Nonetheless, it would be intriguing to see where the tides of time take Talisca in the summer.
