Real Madrid are ready to part ways with their Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos next summer. According to recent reports in the Spanish media, Los Blancos could offload the midfielder and let him join Liverpool at the end of the season. The 21-year-old has found game time limited at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium this season since making a switch from Real Betis last summer. Some sources are now claiming that he could be looking for a way out of the Spanish capital.
It is believed that the Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has asked the club to swoop in for his signature when the summer transfer window reopens. The Galacticos president Florentino Perez has reportedly come up with a master plan to send Ceballos to Anfield. It is understood that the Spanish midfielder will be allowed to make a move to Merseyside on an initial loan deal with a permanent option.
However, Perez is only willing to do business in order to improve relations between the two clubs which could tip the scales in Madrid’s favour in pursuit of Mohamed Salah, who has emerged as a Real Madrid target after his brilliant debut season at the Merseyside club. It has also been reported that negotiations are taking place between the two teams with Los Blancos set to offer Benzema in part-exchange for Salah but the Reds are not eager to sign the French striker.
Ceballos is expected to leave the reigning European champions if Zinedine Zidane remains in charge of their first-team. He has made 19 appearances for the Galacticos this season and has scored two goals so far in all competitions.
The Merseysiders are currently sitting in 3rd place in the Premier League standings after securing a comfortable 4-1 victory at home to West Ham United on Sunday. The Reds find themselves just above Tottenham Hotspur, who are in fourth place with only a narrow two-point gap separating the two teams at the moment. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side are a staggering 15 points behind league leaders Manchester City going into the final stretch of the season which will be a cause for concern.
The addition of Ceballos will undoubtedly bolster Jurgen Klopp’s midfield options going forward but he might struggle to get game time at Anfield as well. Liverpool has the likes of Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Emre Can vying for a place in Klopp’s starting eleven with Naby Keita set to arrive in the summer. Ceballos is not worth the risk of losing Salah and Liverpool should look elsewhere if they are looking to beef up their midfield. Only time will tell what lies ahead in the future of the Spaniard and whether he ends up making a switch to the Premier League next summer.
