Real Madrid took on the La Liga side Getafe in their 27th match of the season in the domestic competition at the Santiago Bernabeu, which is already looking like a lost cause for them. Lagging behind arch-rivals Barcelona by a huge 15 points, the Galacticos are looking to win everything that comes their way and came out with the same intent in this match as well.
The first half was completely dominated by the defending La Liga champions, with Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo scoring to give their side a strong advantage against Getafe. This was also one of the rare occasions this season when Zinedine Zidane opted to use the famous trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale together in the starting lineup.
Loic Remy picked up an unnecessary red card at the start of the second half, making things even tougher for the away team. However, the visitors scored one goal against the run of play but it was too little too late for them as Ronaldo once again found the back of the net with his head to take the match away from Getafe, taking his goal tally to 30 for this season in all competitions.

Captain’s performance on the night. However, should not have let the goal in and that will go against him tonight.

An improved show by the Spaniard. However, needs to improve on his defensive aspects.
Marcelo- 8/10
A flamboyant performance once again from the brilliant Brazilian. Looks like he is all geared up for the mega clash against Paris Saint Germain.
Isco- 7/10
Made a valuable contribution in the middle of the pitch. However, seems to have lost a couple of yards of pace in the recent times.
Casemiro- 8/10
Played a very important role in absence of Modric and Kroos. Looked solid while going into interceptions and made delightful passes as always.
Marcos Llorente- 6/10
Tried his level best to play alongside Casemiro and put up a decent effort, to say the least.
Gareth Bale- 8/10
Looked in ominous touch and opened the scoring for the Galacticos. Looked every bit threatening with his moves. Could have added to his tally at the end of the match but managed to hit the post.
Karim Benzema- 8/10
Looked more like the old Benzema Madrid fans know. His absolutely accurate flicks, chips and shots piled on the problems for the opposition. Has adapted well to the role of playing second lead to Ronaldo in the recent times and that showed in his performance once again tonight.
Cristiano Ronaldo- 9/10
Another match, another brace for the talisman. Looked dangerous from the word go, which spelt doom for Getafe. Zidane will hope that he carries his immaculate form in the mega clash against PSG as well.
