Manchester United have had a mixed season so far this campaign. They might have to work hard in the Champions League against Sevilla at Old Trafford next week but have a decent chance of going all the way and lifting the FA Cup come the end of the season.
But Jose Mourinho will not be too pleased with the performances of his side this season and might bring a number of fresh faces into the side, to try and shake things up for the next season. He might also let a few of his first-team stars leave and one such player, extensively linked with an exit is French star, Anthony Martial.
A transfer target for Arsenal as well, Martial was the most expensive teenager when the Red Devils purchased him back in 2015. However, he is yet to establish himself in the first team at Old Trafford and has made just 16 starts this season, where he has picked up nine goals and five assists, his best return yet in a Red Devils’ shirt.
However, he has started just two of the last five games and has often been sacrificed by Mourinho, which will surely frustrate him. At 22, he will want to play every game, every week but the Manchester United manager see him below Alexis Sanchez in the first team, which might now see Martial quit the club in the summer.
According to reports from The Times, Martial is no longer happy with his role in Manchester and wants to listen to offers this summer. While Arsenal will definitely retain their interest in the attacker, it is understood that Italian giants Juventus are ready to pounce on him at the end of the season.
It is also reported that Manchester United are not ready to let him leave and that they will sit down with Martial’s representatives at the end of the season to discuss his future but do you think United can afford to lose him?
One of the most exciting attackers in England, Martial is naturally a CF but has had to play on the wings since his move to England. He has 17 appearances for his national side to add to 82 PL appearances, where he has scored 24 goals and picked up 15 assists.
He has put in some match-winning performances in the past and is a player United cannot afford to lose. His quality at his age is a rare combination and though United might be able to sell him at a right price, they will struggle to find replacements and are better of tying him down to Old Trafford for the near future.
But do you think Martial will want to stay back at Manchester United beyond this summer?
