Celtic cruised to a 3-0 victory over bottom-placed Ross County with goals from Moussa Dembele, Stuart Armstrong and Tom Rogic taking Brendan Rodgers’ men to within 9 points of winning a 7th successful Scottish Premiership title.
Dembele opened the scoring in the 25th minute from the penalty spot after Scott Sinclair was brought down by Jason Naismith. Things got worse for the away side when Andrew Davies was sent for a nasty stamp on Scott Brown 6 minutes before halftime.
Armstrong, who was a menace throughout, sealed the result 3 minutes after the restart after slotting home from inside the area. Rogic added gloss to the scoreline at the hour mark with an exquisite touch and finish and after that point, the game was a stroll for Celtic as they finished the game with 25 shots, albeit just 8 were on target.
A supremely comfortable win kept the hopes alive for the Hoops to complete a consecutive domestic Treble.
Here are the player ratings for Celtic.
Scott Bain- 6.5/10
Made a good stop to keep the scoreline at 0-0 after 4 minutes and barely had anything to do since.
Mikael Lustig- 7.5/10
Back in the team, and put on a solid shift on the right flank.
Kristoffer Ajer- 7/10
Untested on a very comfortable day for the Bhoys.
Dedryck Boyata- 6/10
Replaced just before halftime.
Callum McGregor- 8/10
Marshalled his flank both offensively and defensively.
Scott Brown- 7.5/10
Helped control the tempo of the game with some neat passes and was composed in possession.
Stuart Armstrong- 9/10
A masterclass from Armstrong as he drove his team forward with excellent work from midfield. Carried the ball superbly as he eased past the County players and capped off his performance with a sweet finish from 15 yards.
James Forrest- 8.5/10
Notched a couple of assists which was a fair reward for a fine display down the right side.
Tom Rogic- 7.5/10
Not as involved as the other forwards, but scored a sublime goal.
Scott Sinclair- 7/10
Missed a plethora of chances, particularly in the first half. Won the penalty for the first goal but wasn’t at his best.
Moussa Dembele- 8/10
Another player guilty of spurning great chances, but confidently slotted the penalty to score his 14th of the season.
