Having managed to dump Rochdale out of the FA Cup over two legs, Tottenham Hotspur are back in action this weekend, as they welcome Huddersfield Town to Wembley in the domestic league. They face Juventus on the back of a 2-2 draw in Turin just days after this game but Pochettino cannot afford to drop points and lose their position in top-4 of the points table.
They are now unbeaten in their last 16 games in all competitions and face the Terriers, who have won back to back games in the league leading up to this weekend. Spurs will settle for nothing less than three points and here is the predicted lineup Pochettino might field for this tie:
Team News:
Pochettino revealed that first team star Jan Vertonghen is back to full fitness and is expected to start this weekend. But they will miss the services of Toby Alderweireld, who is nursing a thigh injury and will remain the only other absentee for this game.
Expected lineup (4-2-3-1):
Defence:
Michel Vorm did a decent job in the domestic cup earlier in the week but Hugo Lloris is the senior GK and should start under the bar in this league tie. With Vertonghen back in action, he should walk into the first team and will play alongside Davison Sanchez, who is now a regular name at the back for Spurs.
Serge Aurier might be rested for the game against Juventus, giving Kieran Trippier a run at right-back. Ben Davies was left out of the game against Rochdale but could be back in action this weekend, starting at left-back.
Midfield:
Pochettino used Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko in the midfield earlier in the week. Neither of them are expected to keep their place in the side as Belgian dazzler Mousa Dembele, who remains one of the most crucial members of this squad, will start alongside Eric Dier, who is expected to add some mettle to the midfield.
Attack:
Harry Kane was not needed in the 6-1 victory in the FA Cup. He is currently the top goal scorer in the league and will look to continue his form against the Terriers this weekend. Dele Alli needs to pick up his game and will get a chance to do so in this game with Christian Eriksen start on the right flank.
Heung Min-Son did enough to impress Pochettino against Rochdale and is expected to start on the left flank in the attack.
Here is how they might line up:
