Everton will play hosts to Brighton and Hove Albion at Goodison Park on Saturday looking to secure all three points after their recent struggles in the Premier League. The Toffees have just won twice in their last 12 matches in all competitions which have left their fans frustrated and asking for more out of their manager. Sam Allardyce took charge of the Merseyside club in November last year and has since steadied the ship but has struggled in the league after the turn of the year. He will be desperate to earn a favourable result and ease the pressure surrounding his future at the club. Meanwhile, the Seagulls are flying high at the moment and has recently secured an impressive 2-1 victory at home to Arsenal.
The reverse fixture saw both teams sharing the spoils in a 1-1 stalemate. Sam Allardyce is expected to opt for a 4-1-4-1 formation and will be without the services of the suspended Ashley Williams for this clash on Saturday.
4-1-4-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Brighton And Hove Albion
Defence
Jordan Pickford will start in goal for the Toffees and might be protected by a back four of Michael Keane and Phil Jagielka in central defence while Seamus Coleman plays at right-back and Leighton Baines operates on the left side of the backline.
The Toffees defence has not kept a single clean sheet in their last 10 matches across all competitions. Big Sam will be hoping that his backline can keep the Brighton attack at bay on Saturday.
Midfield
Idrissa Gueye is expected to be deployed as a deep-lying holding midfielder while Wayne Rooney and Tom Davies operate in front of the Senegalese midfielder at the centre of the park. Tom Davies got his name on the scoresheet against Crystal Palace in their last home game in the league and will look to repeat the feat during the clash versus the Seagulls as well.
Gylfi Sigurðsson will start on the left flank and hope to add to his goal tally of 6 goals in this campaign. Theo Walcott will look to use his pace and create some chances while operating on the right side of the midfield. Walcott scored a brace of goals versus Leicester City a few weeks ago to make the difference on the night so he will be a threat to the Seagulls defence.
Attack
Cenk Tosun is expected to the lead the lines for the Toffees up top. He found the back of the net in his last league appearance and will be looking to better his record when he laces up to take on the Brighton backline this weekend.
