Reports are claiming that Pedro is being chased by Spanish club Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone’s men are prepared to pay as much as £36m for the former Barcelona man this summer to take him off, Chelsea.
It is being believed that the Chelsea ace who is north of 30 will be let go off by the Blues board should such an offer come in. If Pedro were to leave Stamford Bridge, Chelsea would require someone to replace him in the thin squad. Here are three options for the Blues to consider.
David Neres
The highly rated 21-year old player from South America has brilliantly adapted to Dutch football. Neres is incredibly light on his feet and has good enough ball control to cause any defence problems on his night.
The winger has been in blazing form this season and has already scored 9 goals and recorded 12 assists in 22 games in the first 5 months of the season. He is proving to be equally effective in the second half as well and Chelsea could look to him as a player for many years if the club is serious about adding quality to their side. The club is known for being keen on young talent and Neres would be a perfect addition.
Richarlison
The 20-year old attacking player moved to the English side Watford last summer from Fluminense.
Richarlison had enjoyed a bright start to the Premier League scoring four goals and setting up three more in his twelve games at the club. Much of the credit for Watford’s impressive start to the new season had gone to the dynamic Brazilian winger who had been very influential every time Watford were looking to score goals.
There has been a recent dip in his form but given that it is only his first season and that he has still shown glimpses of great quality, he should not be judged so quickly. Chelsea will look to add him to their roster as he could potentially be a long-term addition to the Blues squad given his quality and young age.
Yacine Brahimi
The 28-year-old winger who naturally plays on the left wing is a star for the Portuguese outfit and is an exceptionally talented playmaker. Brahimi has made over a 100 appearances for Porto since his arrival in 2014 and has a decent goal return of one goal every three matches for the club.
The versatile winger can play on either wing or in behind the striker is a French-born Algerian international. Brahimi has impressed everyone so far but he is still untested in the big waters of the English championship. He is yet to play for a major European club on a regular basis as a first-team regular.
