Arsenal have been cautioned over their hopes of bringing Massimiliano Allegri to the Emirates next summer. Juventus’ general manager, Giuseppe Marotta said, “Allegri has a contract with us for many years. The relationship with him is excellent, we are still one of the most important clubs in the world and there are no indications [he wants to leave] so it’s not a problem for us.”
There you go Arsenal, warning shot has been sent, now what? We all know about the problem they are facing with Arsene Wenger at the helm!
The club has stopped to lower depths from the 2001/02 season and are on a woeful trajectory of midtable status. Their 6th place finish in the 2016/17 season was not good enough for the Arsenal faithful and instead of an improved campaign in the next, the Gunners are poised to make a similar end.
The season can still be saved by winning the UEFA Europa League but judging by the form the club is in, it will be a tasking affair. Wenger’s contract with the club is set to run for another season and his job is hardly under any threat. The 22-year period has seen him rise to ‘Godly’ status in the club, making him almost indispensable for the board.
The Frenchman is still adamant on winning a major honour with the North London side, something which does not look like happening in the near future. On his timely exit, a replacement will have to named and since Allegri is no longer in within consideration, here are a few names they can take note of.
Luis Enrique
He is a decorated coach who has won 9 trophies in his 3-year stint with Barcelona. His 1-year sabbatical is slowly coming to an end and the 47-year-old is already fielding offers from interested parties.
Antonio Conte
It is unclear as to how long the Italian will hold his position as the Chelsea boss next season if the Blues finish out of the top-four. Simply based on rumours coming out of media outlets, Arsenal can provide the former Juventus boss with an escape if he does end up facing the axe.
Sean Dyche
Burnley has been a revelation this season with their eyes set on the European qualification spot of the Premier League. Dyche’s style of play demands discipline and excellence from all his players and this has paid off ten folds in recent times. With the limited resources the club has if they do finish the season in the 7th spot over the likes of Everton and Leicester City, Dyche is well deserving of a promotion to an elite side.
