Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are ready to make a move to secure the services of Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah next summer. According to recent reports, the La Liga duo has been impressed with the Egyptian’s incredible form this season which has often seen him being compared to Lionel Messi. Some sources have recently suggested that any potential suitors would need to smash the world record transfer fee of £198m paid by Paris Saint-Germain for Neymar in order to make a swoop for the Egyptian winger.
However, the Spanish giants are not the only clubs looking to sign the Liverpool star, with Paris Saint-Germain also keeping tabs on his progress at Merseyside. It is understood that Jurgen Klopp’s team are reluctant to let their prized asset depart following Phillipe Coutinho’s big money transfer to Barcelona in January. Salah has made 41 appearances for Liverpool this season, scoring 36 goals while providing 12 assists in all competitions.
With Salah’s future at Anfield up in smokes, let’s take a look at three potential replacements for Liverpool to consider if the Egyptian star ends up leaving Merseyside in the near future.
Mikel Oyarzabal
The 20-year-old Spanish wide man has featured in 34 matches for Real Sociedad this term and has found the back of the net 9 times and provided 7 assists across all competitions so far. He is another prospect who has the capability to flourish under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield if the Merseyside outfit opts for his signature in the near future.
Hirving Lozano
The PSV Eindhoven attacker has been in exceptional form this season and has put in some impressive displays in the Dutch Eredivisie. The 22-year-old Mexican international has scored 16 goals and made 10 assists in 28 matches for the Dutch club this season in all competitions. He is exactly the kind of talent that the Anfield-based club should look for if they want to replace Salah. The youngster has bags of potential and can develop into a star for Liverpool in the coming years if the club can manage to secure his services.
Leon Bailey
The Bayer 04 Leverkusen winger has been in sensational form for his club during the course of this campaign and has lit up the Bundesliga with his performances so far. The 20-year-old Jamaican has scored 11 goals and made 5 assists in 26 matches for the Bundesliga club this term across all competitions. He has the makings of a future star and the Reds can look to capitalise on his potential by snapping him up this summer.
