Having lost their 10th game of the campaign at the weekend, Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal are in need of a complete overhaul at the end of the season and are looking to bring in some exciting talents, to try and re-establish themselves in Europe. They are also expected to let a few of their first team stars quit the club this summer and one such player, who is already linked with an exit is midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
The Welsh midfielder remains one of the most exciting players in his role in England but has not been able to show any consistency and could be shown the exit door. He will enter the final year of his contract next season and Arsenal also want to avoid losing him on a free. So where can Ramsey play in the future? Here are three English clubs that should give the 27-year old a shot this summer:
Manchester City:
The Citizens have one of the strongest squads in Europe but are a bit weak in their midfield. Pep Guardiola is desperate for star names that can walk into the first team but they are so short in numbers in this position, that they might have to spend on more than one midfielder this summer. Ramsey could be the backup for Pep, to allow him to compete on all four fronts. His experience in England along with his playing style, that is close to what Pep preaches at City, make Ramsey a good fit for the Blues of Manchester.
West Ham United:
With a chance to stay back in London, Ramsey should definitely look at West Ham United as a potential destination for the next season. The Hammers are desperate for a creative midfielder and brought Joao Mario on a loan in January. But Ramsey and his previous experience in the league, along with his ability to play in multiple roles, will surely attract interests from David Moyes at West Ham. He can slot in well and can be the long-term replacement for Mark Noble and can also help West Ham back to the top half of the table and to a place in Europe.
Liverpool:
Though not the best option for Ramsey, Liverpool is not a bad shout for the 27-year old. Jurgen Klopp may lose Emre Can in the summer and has already lost Philippe Coutinho in January. They will welcome Naby Keita next season but could do with another midfield option, a creative one and Ramsey is a decent fit. He has what it takes to be a success at the highest level and should definitely be given a shot.
