Arsenal are host to some of the finest youngsters in world football as Arsene Wenger is usually on the look-out of potential superstars in the transfer market. He has shaped the careers of a number of teenagers but has also had players who have failed to live up to the expectations at Emirates. One such player, who has not been able to impress Wenger is Joel Campbell.
Currently out on loan at Real Betis, his sixth stint out on loan since moving to England, Campbell has failed to get enough time on the field and is reportedly one of the many players who could quit the club, come the end of the season. At just 25, the attacking winger is a gifted and skilled footballer and will improve a few clubs in the country. Here are three such destinations for the youngster, if he is sold by Arsenal this summer:
Celtic:
Brendan Rodgers is accumulating an impressive squad at Glasgow and is looking for players for particular roles in the side for the next season. Campbell, who is a proven winger at the highest level will be a crucial addition to the squad at Celtic. He is a powerhouse, who can not only add width to the attack but is also effective in front of goal and can walk into the first team next season, adding some pace and directness to Celtic’s attack. He is a free agent and is a risk worth taking for the Celts.
Everton:
The Toffees have had great success with Theo Walcott on the wing but have Yannick Bolasie as the only other genuine winger in the side. They will certainly be looking for a player who can act as a backup to the English winger and Campbell fits the bill perfectly. He will not cost the club a penny and his experience in England previously will help him settle in at Goodison Park quickly. At just 25, he will only get better and is a good fit for the system at Everton.
Burnley:
The Clarets have already done enough to avoid the drop this season but with their progress this season, they should try and fight for a place in Europe next season. But they will need some quality and proven additions to the squad and the Arsenal want-away is as good an option as any. Sean Dyche needs wingers next season, with not too many wide-men available for the first team. At no cost at all, Campbell is a player they should definitely give a shot at Turf Moor.
