As per one of the latest reports by Daily Mail, Celtic’s attacker, Scott Sinclair, is perceived to have fallen on the radar of Bournemouth. Apart from the Cherries, it is believed that Premier League’s newcomers, Brighton & Hove Albion, are also monitoring the winger closely and both the clubs are pondering upon the prospect of luring him out of the Celtic Park in the summer.
Sinclair emerged through the youth ranks of Bath Arsenal, Bristol Rovers and Chelsea. He started his senior career with Bristol Rovers before moving to the ranks of Chelsea. However, he couldn’t cement his place in the senior side of the Blues but while he was in their books, he was regularly loaned out to various English sides such as Queens Park Rangers, Charlton Athletic and Birmingham City.
After completing a number of loan spells, he signed for Swansea City permanently and made a notable impact at the club before moving to Manchester City after a couple of productive seasons. He was used sporadically in the senior side of the Citizens and was shipped out on loan to West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa before he signed a permanent deal with the latter.
In the summer of 2016, he signed on a dotted line to secure a permanent move to Celtic and made a riveting impact in the Scottish Premiership as he smashed 25 goals in the treble winning season for the Hoops. He made the headlines of major dailies week in and week out and there is no denying that he caught the attention of the football fraternity owing to his dazzling form last season.
Although he has 17 goals for Brendan Rodgers’ side this term, he has apparently lost his place in the starting line-up of the former Liverpool boss of late. He has not been able to showcase the attacking prowess that he did put on display last season and his stature in the ranks of the Glasgow giants has diminished to an extent and no wonder why some Premier League clubs are keeping a close eye to this situation.
Rodgers is expected to beef up the quality of his attacking arsenal in the summer but sanctioning Sinclair’s exit could prove to be a massive blow to the club. The 28-year-old is a shrewd attacker who has truckloads of experience under his belt and is well acquainted with Rodgers’ tactical nous. Besides, he is a senior figure at the club and perhaps he needs some words of confidence from his manager to get back to his best in order to help Celtic in their upcoming endeavours.
