Marseille midfielder Andre Zambo Anguissa has been in great form this season for Ligue 1 side Marseille. The Cameroon international has played 38 games for the Ligue 1 side this season and has been a crucial part of the Marseille side.
The physically strong hard-hitting midfielder is not shy of a tackle or a physical battle. He has the energy to run from box to box for 90 minutes and is technically steady on the ball. He is an ideal number 8 and has the battery to play week in week out. He is also apt in playing as a defensive midfielder and can just sit in front of his defence and shield the back four.
The midfielder who has made 11 international appearances for his national side is not particularly flashy with the ball however in the final third. He does not have much of a ball-playing side and struggles to maintain the temp of his side is tasked with playmaking.
He is reportedly being chased by a number of Premier League side including the likes of Watford, West Ham United, Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion. All four clubs are struggling this season with West Brom set for the drop. Watford and West Ham are showing signs of resurgence under new bosses Javi Gracia and David Moyes respectively with Newcastle being there and there about throughout the campaign.
With the January transfer window now in the past, these four clubs will have to wait till summer at least to land their target. While no club has been ruled favourite yet, it can be easily said that staying in the Premier League will be an absolutely crucial aspect of having Andre Zambo Anguissa in their team. While for West Ham, Newcastle and Watford that seems a possibility, it would more or less rule out West Brom for the time being.
Newcastle despite their average run in the league have a miser owner in Mike Ashley who has been unwilling to spend a single penny on a permanent signing of a new player since their promotion. While Watford could be a favourite, the Hornets already have Abdoulaye Doucoure, Étienne Capoue, Tom Cleverley and Nathaniel Chalobah. This would mean that another addition would be futile thus leaving West Ham as the front-runner for the Cameroon man.
David Moyes’ men have a daunting front-line and a steady defence but are in desperate need of strong central midfielders and thus Zambo Anguissa can be an asset to their team.
