West Brom are currently locked in a four-way battle with Newcastle United, West Ham United and Watford to sign highly-rated Olympique Lyonnais midfielder, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa in the next transfer window.
Zambo Anguissa has been a key figure in the Ligue 1 side and has appeared on 38 occasions this season across all competitions under Bruno Génésio. He has been in remarkable form this season to help Les Gones to the third spot of the points table.
Second-placed, AS Monaco are just 2 points away from them even though chances of winning the league might not be realistic with Paris Saint-Germain extending their lead to 14 points. However, a place in the Champions League is favourable now and Anguissa has been crucial in fulfilling that ambition. The 6 feet tall figure is a defensive enforcer who can do the dirty work at the heart of the park and win his side the ball in tight spaces. He has been capped at international level for the Cameroon senior side 11 times and has been monitored closely by the Baggies for quite some time now.
It has been reported that a £13m bid from West Brom has been rejected by the French outfit earlier and Alan Pardew will have to come in with a beefed up offer if they are serious about acquiring the midfield ball-winner.
After the sacking of Tony Pulis, the Baggies really thought Alan Pardew will be the man to lead them out of this rut, but so far it has not been the case. With a lack of resources, the former Palace manager has struggled to make a significant change into the team.
