A BBC ( Benzema, Bale, Cristiano ) inspired show lead Zinedine Zidane and his Real Madrid to a sublime victory over Alaves who were completely overwhelmed. Ronaldo’s clinical brace, a neat finish from Bale and a superb penalty from Benzema was too much for the visitors. Here’s how the Los Blancos have been rated:-

GK: Keylor Navas – 7.5/10
Made three important saves in the first half and denied whatever Alaves could muster. He really is under-appreciated at times.
RB: Dani Carvajal – 7/10
Didn’t look convincing positioning wise but he settled in as the game went on. He was decent and did his bit.
CB: Raphael Varane – 7/10
Lead with confidence and showed a little bit of his pace as well. A clean-sheet is a positive.
CB: Nacho – 6/10
He looked jaded and vulnerable. Needs to get his energy back.
LB: Theo Hernandez – 6.5/10
He looked focused and did his job. Needs to be a little more composed when it comes to his own box otherwise, there are several positives to take from this game.
CM: Casemiro – 7/10
Looked immensely comfortable with Kovacic as his partner and that only helped him to go and do his job. His interceptions were amazing and he was solid. Impressive.
CM: Mateo Kovacic – 7.5/10
Don’t think Modric’s presence will be missed a lot when Kovacic is in this kind of form. His work rate and composure was a treat to watch. He certainly allows Casemiro to have some freedom as well.
LM: Gareth Bale – 7.5/10
Gelled well with teammates and was committed. Took his chance well and finished smartly for his goal. Work-rate again was really nice.
RM: Lucas Vazquez – 8/10
He was absolutely significant to the attacking sector today and without his selfless nature or the ability to link up smoothly, the attack wouldn’t have flourished. Provided a good assist for Ronaldo as well.
FW: Karim Benzema – 9/10
Rusty at the beginning but grew into the game magnificently. Provided two significant assists and took his penalty well. His selflessness too is a joy to watch and today’s performance highlighted as to why Zidane still has faith in him.
FW: Cristiano Ronaldo – 8/10
Tidy and largely effective. Ronaldo doesn’t need a lot of description.
