Manchester United may have landed the Europa League title last season but they are yet to win the league title since Sir Alex Ferguson left and they are no closer to it even under Jose Mourinho. Local rivals Manchester City are running away with the Premier League this season but United are struggling to even keep a safe distance in the 2nd place in the points table. halfway through the season.
The manager has made some sparkling additions to the squad in Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Eric Bailly and Alexis Sanchez more recently. However, they are still in need of a top class player, who can help them beat the best in the country and also in Europe.
This has seen them linked with some superstars recently, as ever, and one player that they are constantly linked with is Brazilian winger Neymar Jr.
The former Barcelona star moved to PSG in a mind-numbing, record-breaking deal at the start of the season and has been in terrific form for the French giants. He is expected to walk them to the league title in France but PSG’s major aim will be to try and lay their hands on the Champions League trophy in the coming years.
Neymar will have to play a huge role if PSG are to get anywhere near the trophy but reports earlier in the season claimed that he might be allowed to leave the club if he lands them European silverware.
Manchester United and Real Madrid are both interested in his services and Spanish news outfit Don Balon now claim that the Red Devils have been given a fresh boost in the pursuit of the 25-year old.
According to the story, Manchester United’s sponsor Chevrolet are convinced that Neymar will improve the brand immensely and are ready to provide the mammoth budget that will land the Brazilian in the upcoming transfer windows.
Easily one of the best players in the world at the moment, Neymar is not too far away from lifting the Ballon d’Or and if his numbers this season are anything to go by, this might just be his year. Full of trickery and skill, the former Santos star will walk into any team in Europe at the moment and will solve impending problems at Old Trafford.
He will turn into the first choice on the left flank and can seriously improve United’s chances of establishing themselves as European superpowers yet again. It will not be easy to lure him but Neymar is just the kind of a player the Red Devils need to find their feet amongst the best.
