Liverpool are interested in securing the services of Deportivo La Coruna forward Pinchi next summer. According to recent reports in the English press, the Reds are among a whole host of clubs which includes Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United who are competing for the Spaniard’s services. It is believed that Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently winning the race for his signature. The 22-year-old winger will be out of contract next summer and could switch clubs for a small compensation fee payable to his Spanish team.
Pinchi has been plying his trade for Deportivo’s second team and can boast incredible pace down the right flank. His talents have caught the eye of Premier League scouts with a possible move to English football looming on the horizon.
The Liverpool manager is looking to bolster his attacking options after the departure of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in the January transfer period. The addition of Pinchi could turn out to be a low-risk investment for the Merseyside club. The current Liverpool front line has got lots of goals between them this season but the trio of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane has barely been given a rest with the players having to cope with the added workload of Champions League football.
The Merseyside outfit are currently occupying 4th place in the Premier League table after being denied a victory at the death in their 2-2 home draw versus Tottenham Hotspur in the last gameweek. The Reds find themselves just above Chelsea, who are in fifth place with a point separating the two teams at the moment. However, both clubs have played a game less than their top 4 rivals with Klopp’s side preparing for a clash with Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium while Chelsea takes on West Bromwich Albion on Monday night.
The acquisition of Pinchi could prove to be a shrewd signing for Jurgen Klopp as the German boss looks to inject some quality to his squad ahead of the new campaign. His arrival can improve Klopp’s attacking options going forward and will add depth to his squad which might help the Reds bridge the gap between themselves and the Manchester clubs in the coming years. Pinchi has featured in 23 matches for the Deportivo La Coruna B team, finding the back of the net six times this term.
It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Pinchi and whether he ends up playing for Liverpool next season.
