It appears the sacking of Thomas Christiansen has not helped Leeds United revive their season. The Whites were on the end of yet another loss tonight when they faced Sheffield United in their own backyard.
Here is how the players are rated as per their performances against Sheffield United.
Felix Wiedwald: 6
Not the worst of outings despite another defeat. He had very little chance of saving either goal.
Stuart Dallas: 6.5
A good game from the right back. Did his defensive duties really well to keep Leeds in the game and was extremely unlucky to have his late shot deflected just wide of goal.
Matthew Pennington: 6.5
A good outing for the loanee. He was dominant in the air and cleared several dangerous balls deep in the Leeds United box.
Pontus Jansson: 6.5
Unlucky not to get his goal with Blackman pulling off a good save. Made a few important clearing headers to keep the game exciting and most importantly, he showed good chemistry with Pennington, something that might finally get Leeds a good centre-back pairing at the back.
Laurens De Bock: 5.5
Not an impressive game by any standards. Way off his pace and lousy with his passing.
Adam Forshaw: 7
Apart from the booking for a late challenge, he was impressive with his intelligence. Was always on the move and made himself available for a pass throughout the match.
Kalvin Phillips: 6.5
Tried stringing together as many attacks as he could. Could have had an assist if Hernandez’s shot from his pass had ended up in the back of the net.
Eunan O’Kane: 4
His clearing header turned out to be a flick on for the Sharp to put Sheffield ahead. Not the best night by any means. Made his night worse by gifting Sheffield a penalty.
Ezgjan Alioski: 4
The man with many talents but few on display. Failed to execute his overhead kick and was just missing from the game in general.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga: 7
Worked well up front to create space and room for himself. A good goal early in the second half to get Leeds back into the match.
Kemar Roofe: 3.5
His clash with Basham looked bad as the player was forced off with a concussion. He was not at all up to the standards of the game.
Substitutes
Pablo Hernandez: 7
A forced substitution but made a lot of difference when he came on. He created several chances and was unlucky not to end up on the score sheet. Needs to start in the coming matches.
Hadi Sacko: 4.5
A fast player without much cleverness to claim a starting position.
Caleb Ekuban: N/A
Could have scored but it just was not Leeds’ night.
