Latest reports are confirming that Real Madrid is preparing a player plus cash deal for Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard. The Spanish outfit have had a long on-going rumour with Hazard with both parties speaking highly of each other.
It is now being reported that Madrid are ready to land their man by offering Chelsea £100 million plus Welsh speedster Gareth Bale. Real are having a rather blimp of a season after two wonderful years under club legend Zinedine Zidane. However, things have fallen apart this season domestically with the club now 20 points behind arch-rivals and league leaders Barcelona.
It is being reported that the Galacticos are preparing for a major overhaul this summer and want to bring in Hazard as a part of their summer revamp. They are ready to part ways with Gareth Bale who has fallen down the pecking order at the Bernabeu.
The ex-Tottenham Hotspur man moved to Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 for a then world-record fee. After spending four colourful but injury-blighted years at the club, it seems he will return to London should Hazard move the other way.
The English league known for its pace and physicality struggled to keep up with Bale as the Welshman went on to become the PFA Player’s Player of the Year in the 2012-13 season. He also won the Football Writer’s Association Player of the Year and the PFA Young Player of the Year. He became the only second player ever at that time to win all three awards in the same season after Cristiano Ronaldo.
Gareth Bale went on to finish the season with 26 goals and 15 assists and following huge interest from Real over the summer, completed a move to the Spanish capital side for a then world-record fee.
In his four seasons at the club, Bale has gone on to make 171 appearances scoring 76 goals and setting up 57 assists. He has also won the Spanish league and three Champions League trophies with the Los Blancos.
If Chelsea were to lose Hazard, a player of Bale’s stature would be a strong candidate to replace the X-factor that Hazard brings to Chelsea. However, the Blues must be wary of Bale’s injury record with the Welshman not getting any younger by the day.
As for Hazard, the Belgium National Team captain joined the Blues back in the summer of 2012. In his five year spell at the club, Chelsea has seen the worst and the best of Hazard and interestingly the form of the club has reflected the form of the player, such is the importance of the winger in the team.
On the day when Hazard plays, he is on par with the best in the world and cannot be touched let alone caught on the field. He dances and dazzles his way through and weaves a wave of magic on the pitch on his way to goal leaving fans and players mesmerized. However, such days are short in number and inconsistency is perhaps the only complaint any manager can have with the player. He has gone a long way this season to correcting his inconsistency this season and has been a livewire for the Blues in every match.
Hazard is most dangerous when he has the ball on his feet and teammates rallying around him.
The Chelsea winger is magical on his night and can dribble past opposition whenever he fancies. The Belgian is also known to be a huge admirer of current Real boss Zidane. The reports have only intensified as Zidane has praised Hazard on multiple occasions as well. Hazard has the “Galactico” status to his game and being a left-winger he is an ideal star man to replace the stardom of Ronaldo in the coming years.
Ronaldo, who turned 32 this year is slowly entering the final phase of his career and Real Madrid will need to scout for possible replacements for the iconic Portuguese forward with Hazard being an ideal candidate. As for Chelsea, it seems only a matter of time before they lose Hazard to another top European club and hence the Blues might just consider this deal as the least negative alternative to losing Hazard.
