Bayern Munich will entertain Besiktas at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Tuesday night as part of their UEFA Champions League first-leg match. The German giants secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory at the Volkswagen Arena versus Wolfsburg on Saturday and will come into this clash full of confidence. They have won their last 13 matches in all competitions and are in sensational form going into the final stretch of the season. Meanwhile, Besiktas have done incredibly well in the Champions League but have struggled domestically in the Turkish Super Lig especially after the departure of their star striker Cenk Tosun to Everton in the January transfer window.
Bayern boss Jupp Heynckes is expected to opt for a 4-3-3 formation and will definitely make some changes to his side that won 2-1 against Wolfsburg in their last outing. Thiago Alcantara returned to first-team action at the weekend after nearly missing three months due to injury and he will hope to play some part in this contest. The trio of Joshua Kimmich, Corentin Tolisso and Sebastian Rudy will miss the return leg in Turkey if they get cautioned on Tuesday night.
4-3-3 Bayern Munich Predicted Lineup To Face Besiktas
Defence
Sven Ulreich is expected to resume his duties in goal for Bayern Munich and might be shielded by a backline of Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels in central defence while David Alaba starts in the left-back position and Joshua Kimmich takes his place on the right-hand side of the defence.
The Bundesliga giants have conceded 6 goals so far in this edition of the Champions League and their defenders will look to improve on that record when they face off against Besiktas on Tuesday night.
Midfield
The trio of James Rodriguez, Arturo Vidal and Thomas Muller could be unleashed at the centre of the park and the performance of these players will be integral if the Germans are to break down the Besiktas defence at the Allianz Arena.
Thiago Alcantara is still making his way back to full fitness and could be available for a place on the bench for this clash versus Şenol Günes’ side.
Attack
The front three would consist of Robert Lewandowski spearheading the Bayern attack, Arjen Robben looking to cause some damage on the right side while Frank Ribery tries to use his pace and guile on the left flank. Kingsley Coman is expected to start on the bench and come on during the match if required.
