West Ham United will entertain Watford at the London Stadium on Saturday in what is set to be an important clash for both teams as a victory could push them up to the top half of the table while a loss might drag them back into the relegation dogfight. The Hammers have done well after the appointment of David Moyes last year and have gotten themselves out of trouble for the time being. However, they suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion in their last league game.
Meanwhile, Watford have also found their feet of late and have started to recapture their early season form under new manager Javi Garcia. The Hornets thumped the reigning Premier League champions 4-1 at home in their last league outing so it won’t be an easy test for the Hammers on Saturday. The recent history of the fixture makes a grim reading for the east London club as they have not tasted victory in any of their previous three league meetings with the Hornets. David Moyes is expected to stick with his favoured 3-5-1-1 formation and might hand his new signing, Joao Mario another start up top for the Hammers.
3-5-1-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Watford
Defence
Adrian is set to start in goal for the Hammers once again with the Spanish keeper failing to keep a clean sheet in any of their last four games in all competitions. James Collins, Angelo Ogbonna and Declan Rice will make up the three men defence.
West Ham United boss David Moyes will be hoping for a better defensive display at the London Stadium to give themselves the best possible chance of securing all three points on Saturday.
Midfield
The trio of Mark Noble, Pablo Zabaleta and Cheikhou Kouyate is expected to start at the centre of the park with Sam Byram taking his place on the right flank while Aaron Creswell starts on the left-hand side of the midfield. They will be tasked to create some chances and score the goals that will make the difference on the day.
Attack
West Ham’s new signing, Joao Mario might start as part of the Hammers’ attack while playing off the shoulders of Javier Hernandez, who will lead the lines for David Moyes’ men on Saturday. The Mexican forward would be hoping to get his name on the scoresheet versus Watford after finding the back of the net in his last league outing at Brighton & Hove Albion.
