Wolverhampton Wanderers will play hosts to Norwich City on Wednesday night looking to consolidate their position at the top of the Skybet Championship table. The Wolves are currently cruising towards the title and earning an automatic promotion back to the Premier League. Nuno Espirito Santo will hope that his players don’t get complacent going into the final stretch of the season and a victory at the Molineux against the Canaries could help them in their quest to secure the title as early as possible. The West Midlands outfit dropped two points in their last league outing against the 10 men of Preston North End. They will be looking to go back to winning ways versus the Canaries in what promises to a highly entertaining game of football.
The recent history of the fixture makes a grim reading for the home team as they have lost three of their last four meetings with the Canaries. However, the Wolves secured a 2-0 victory at Carrow Road earlier in this campaign which will give them confidence ahead of the midweek showdown. Nuno Espirito Santo is expected to stick with his favoured 3-4-3 formation and could opt for an unchanged side for this clash.
3-4-3 Wolves Predicted Lineup To Face Norwich City
Defence
John Ruddy will start in goal for the Wolves and might be protected by a back three of Ryan Bennett, Conor Coady and Willy Boly. The defensive trio has become a regular feature in the Wolves defence this season.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s backline has conceded just two goals in their last three league outings. The Portuguese boss will be hoping that his defenders can keep a clean sheet against the Canaries on Wednesday night to boost their chances of securing the three points.
Midfield
The duo of Ruben Neves and Alfred N’Diaye could line up at the centre of the park for the Wolves with Barry Douglas operating on the left side of the midfield while Matt Doherty tries to cause some damage to the Norwich City defenders on the right flank.
The midfield four will be responsible to create some chances for their front players to feed on.
Attack
The trio of Ivan Cavaleiro, Hélder Costa and Diogo Jose Jota is expected to start in the Wolves frontline. They have scored 24 goals and made 18 assists in between them this season and would once again be responsible to make the difference against Norwich City on Wednesday night.
