Real Madrid are plotting an ambitious move for Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah. According to recent reports coming out of the Spanish press, Los Blancos president Florentino Pérez reckons that he knows how much it will take to convince the Reds to part ways with their prized asset. The Egyptian has been in terrific form for Liverpool this season and has put in some dazzling displays so far, which has not gone unnoticed as the Spanish giants prepare a mega bid for the player’s signature in the near future.
Salah has featured in 34 matches for Liverpool this season and has found the back of the net 28 times while providing 9 assists across all competitions. His rapid emergence to the top of the goalscoring charts has caught the Premier League by storm with opposition defenders terrified to deal with his pace and trickery. The Egyptian star joined the Merseyside club from AS Roma last summer and has helped Jurgen Klopp’s side climb to third place in the Premier League while also securing progression to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League with a two-legged tie against FC Porto looming on the horizon.
Some sources in the Spanish media claim that the Premier League giants would demand a fee in the region of £88m for Salah, with the Galacticos interested in securing the services of the Egyptian as they look to bring in reinforcements for their struggling stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema up top.
Real Madrid are currently in 4th place in the La Liga standings, a massive 19 points behind their rivals and league leaders Barcelona. Zinedine Zidane’s side are in dire need of reinforcements in the summer and the addition of someone of the calibre of Salah can turn out to be a shrewd piece of business from Los Blancos.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are currently in third place in the Premier League standings, a mammoth 18 points behind league leaders Manchester City going into an away game against Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium. Jurgen Klopp’s men have fallen off the pace in the title race and the possible departure of Mohamed Salah to Real Madrid in the summer could leave their chances of closing the gap to the Manchester clubs in tatters if they fail to bring in a suitable replacement capable of filling the shoes of the Egyptian winger.
It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Mohamed Salah and whether Real Madrid can lure him to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the near future.
