Norwich City midfielder Tom Trybull has penned a new long-term contract which will extend his stay at the club. The club has confirmed on their official website that the 24-year-old has signed a new deal with the Canaries which will keep him at the Norfolk outfit until the summer of 2021. The defensive midfielder joined the Championship club last summer from Dutch side Ado Den Haag on a one year contract. However, he has now decided to extend his stay at Carrow Road for a further three and a half years following his new contract extension.
Trybull has been an integral member for Norwich City this season and has caught the eye with his tireless work rate and passing ability at the centre of the park. The German midfielder has regularly featured for the club this term and has played in 22 matches while scoring two goals so far in all competitions. In an interview with the club’s official website, Trybull expressed his delight after signing a new deal and was quoted to have said, “It was a very easy decision to sign a new contract and I’m really happy.”
“I was appreciative of the chance the club gave me in the summer and I want to pay something back. I’m really thankful for the chance, and the faith Daniel Farke and Stuart Webber have shown in me.”
Norwich City boss Daniel Farke added, “It’s brilliant news as Tom has been one of our outstanding players this season.
“We have a really good relationship and he feels at home here. From the first day he joined, he’s had an outstanding working attitude.”
The Canaries are currently in 13th place in the Skybet Championship league standings, eight points behind a playoff spot. They have recently earned back to back league victories against Brentford and Middlesbrough which has given them hope for securing a spot in the playoffs going into the final stretch of their campaign. A new deal for Trybull will definitely bolster their midfield options for the coming years as they try to bounce back into the Premier League in the near future. The 24-year-old has been a perfect fit for the Canaries and will now look to keep up his good performances at Carrow Road to try and help the club climb up the league table.
It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Tom Trybull and whether he can help Norwich City earn a playoff spot at the end of the current campaign.
