Besiktas are interested in securing the services of West Ham United forward Javier Hernandez. According to recent reports in the English press, the Turkish club is looking to sign the Hammers striker on a loan deal during the January transfer window. It is believed that West Ham manager David Moyes does not want to sell any of his strikers without lining up a replacement first. The east London outfit are looking to sign a midfielder and at least one defender this month.
Moyes is reluctant to let any of his star players leave the club this month and has suggested that the clubs looking to sign his players will have to cough up ‘an awful lot of money’ to have any chance of securing a deal. The Scottish manager said, ‘I don’t want any of them to go,’
‘We’ve got no players here who we want to leave. We want to add to our squad.
‘Ideally, we strengthen, so my intention is not to let anyone go. We’ve got four or five strikers and the competition is tough for all of them but I’m happy that way.
‘If we were (to sell) it would take an awful lot of money in this window to prise any of them out.’
Javier Hernandez has fallen down the pecking order at West Ham this season. He has been a sporadic feature under manager David Moyes in recent weeks after struggling to find any kind of consistent form in this campaign. He has made 21 appearances for his club in all competitions and has scored just 4 goals so far.
The East London could let him leave this month if the right offer comes in as Moyes can use the money generated for his potential sale to strengthen other areas of his squad. West Ham are currently doing well in the Premier League following Moyes’s arrival at the club in November last year. He has turned their fortunes for the better and it clearly shows when looking at their position in the league table. The Hammers are currently in 11th place in the league standings, five points above the relegation zone. They need to recruit wisely in this transfer window to try and avoid getting themselves involved in a relegation dogfight going into the second half of the season.
The possible loan departure of Hernandez will definitely weaken their attack so the Hammers might only look to part ways with the Mexican international on a permanent deal. It remains to be seen whether the Turkish club comes in with an offer to take him permanently or if they are able to convince West Ham to agree on a loan deal for the ex-Manchester United forward in the near future.
