Having failed to make even a single signing before the deadline day, Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur are set to land an exciting star in Lucas Moura from PSG. The manager will want to make sure that he has all the tools required to break into the top-4 this season and it is reported that he might not be done with his transfer activity.
There are a couple of positions that the manager wants to improve on and one player that Tottenham Hotspur continues to be linked with is North Korean star Han Kwang-Song.
According to reports from Calciomercato, the 19-year old, who is currently on loan at Perugia, will be recalled to his parent club, Cagliari today. It is unclear whether he will play a role in the side for the rest of the season but it is rumoured that he might be on his way out of the Italian club.
Kwang-Song is a gifted footballer, who has already made a couple of senior appearances for the North Korean national side. He picked up seven goals in 17 appearances in Serie B this season and is one of the most exciting stars on show in Italy.
He was given his first senior appearances by Cagliari last season, and they now value him at €18m. He is available at that price, up for grabs before deadline day. So should Spurs make a move?
A versatile attacker, who can play as a lone striker or as a support striker to decent effect, the 19-year old is a pacey forward, who loves to have the ball at his feet. His ball control, first touch and dribbling abilities can get the better of even the best defenders in the league and is definitely a star in the making.
His defensive discipline and hard work on the field are weaknesses pulling him down but he has enough potential to win matches in the attack, which makes him an attractive option. He is young and fits Pochettino’s model of recruitment at Tottenham and is a more than a decent addition to their squad.
Harry Kane will remain the first choice striker for the Lily Whites this season but Pochettino does not seem to be convinced with what Fernando Llorente has on offer. The Argentine stepped out of his comfort zone, signing a player who is over 30, and it does not seem to have worked well.
So going back into a familiar market, Kwang-Song will be a sound addition to the squad at Wembley. His price might be a bit expensive but at just 19, his potential is right up there with the best.
